Why Israel Plans to Soften Stance on Russia | Russia Ukraine War. Israel has followed an interesting policy when it comes to the war in Ukraine. The previous government was rather outspoken in speaking out against Russia’s actions. Israel cannot go out of its way to antagonise Russia, since that could severely jeopardise its interests in Syria.
