An F-35C jet crashed while attempting to land on aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson in the South China Sea. The mishap took place while the fighter jet was conducting routine flight operations in the region on January 24. The pilot, who ejected safely, was recovered by a military helicopter and is in stable condition. However, 7 US soldiers were injured.
