Ukraine Faces “Tougher Assaults” in Soledar, 700 Russian Troops Killed, US to Send Stryker Vehicles?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia is focused on capturing the mining town of Soledar in the eastern Donbas region. Ukraine’s military said that its forces killed at least 700 Russian troops in the last 24 hours. Ukraine’s General Staff said the Russian military was conducting offensive actions near Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Lyman. The Institute for Study of War reported that Wagner founder Prigozhin was using gains in Bakhmut to boost his reputation. US NSA Jake Sullivan said Iran could be contributing to war crimes in Ukraine by providing drones to Russia. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Defence Official Oleksiy Danilov claims that Russia intends to start producing Iranian Shahed drones domestically.

The US is considering sending Stryker armoured combat vehicles to Ukraine in an upcoming aid package. France has joined Poland and Finland to push Germany to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Meanwhile, the UK has said that two British aid volunteers, Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Parry, have gone missing in Ukraine. Russian TV Propagandist Vladimir Solovyov has called for a preemptive strike on France for supporting Ukraine.
