Perth USAsia Centre CEO Gordon Flake says Prime Minister Scott Morrison had a series of “remarkably successful meetings” in the United States over the past two weeks. There have been two plus two meetings with defence and foreign affairs, talks with Indonesia, India, and South Korea, as well as the AUSMIN and Quad.
Mr Flake said the AUKUS alliance between Australia, United States, and the United Kingdom “surprised everybody,” and the agreements entered into by Mr Morrison show “how Australia is perceived and received” internationally. “Really big week, in fact, looking back in history, I can’t think of a week more chock-a-block with significant developments for Australia,” he told Sky News Australia.
