Europe Energy Crisis
Europe’s LNG Shift Reeks of Climate Hypocrisy | European Union | Europe Energy Crisis As Europe’s energy crisis drags on, the European Union has thrown climate concerns out of the window. You see, so far it depended on Russian gas pipelines for almost 40% of its energy needs – especially during the harsh winter months. But thanks to the war in Ukraine and the West’s bizarre sanctions, that door was shut. Then, EU nations turned to their ally, the USA, for alternate sources of oil and gas. And gradually, it found a replacement for piped Russian gas – liquified natural gas. This, despite climate activists voicing their fears that it may lead to a major setback in the fight against global warming.
