Launching a New Space Station

Elon Musk seems to be making headlines day after day with his new inventions and ideas. This time he has been revealed to be launching a New Space Station, which will revolve in a low-earth orbit!

What makes the release of this space station so special? Why is the entire world excited about this news?

So recently, the company has revealed that SpaceX will launch what it is calling the world’s first commercial space station as early as 2025 with the goal of eventually developing a multi-module base. The space station called the Vast Haven-1, will launch as early as August 2025 on a Falcon 9 rocket to low-Earth orbit, according to SpaceX. It will function as an independent crewed space station and eventually be connected to a larger Vast space station.

Now you might be wondering what this factor’s significance is, so let me tell you. This Vast Haven-1 will be one of the first commercial space stations to have been created. It is also the first space station to have been created by a private company instead of a governmental entity. How cool is it that travelling to space will become somewhat similar to travelling to another country soon?

SpaceX has partnered up with the company Vast to achieve its goals towards the future. As you can see, this is the majestic Vast Haven-1 which will be revolving around in space soon! The first mission to Haven-1, called Vast-1, will have a crew of four astronauts on board a Crew Dragon spacecraft. They’ll stay at the station for about a month. And they’re not done after that – more missions are planned with Crew Dragon shuttling astronauts back and forth between Haven-1.

This is mostly because the station won’t be able to sustain itself for a long time. So, it’ll rely on the Crew Dragon to keep things going, especially regarding life support systems. With the help of Dragon2, the station can support missions with four crew members. It’ll have all the necessary facilities, like communication systems that are available 24/7, up to 1,000 watts of power, and the ability to carry up to 150 kg of cargo. Also, there’ll be opportunities for science experiments, research, and even in-space manufacturing for up to a month! Every process that occurs on Earth, Elon is trying to fabricate it in space!
