Charlie Weston: Flogas puts it up to its rivals

Flógas has put it up to its larger Rivals

Energy provider Flógas has put it up to its larger rivals by announcing the biggest cut in prices so far. Flogas Energy has announced a 30pc reduction on its electricity and natural gas unit rates and it is reducing its standing charges.

The reductions take effect from November 6 and will mean costs coming down by €895 over a year on the average standard rate electricity bill. For gas customers annual standard rate costs will fall by €778. The supplier has around 70,000 residential customers for electricity and gas.

It comes after the country largest pay-as-you-go energy provider PrepayPower is the latest to cut its prices.
