The Alberta government announced Tuesday that it will be resuming COVID-19 contact tracing at schools in the province along with taking other measures to reduce transmission of the virus. Premier Jason Kenney was joined by Health Minister Jason Copping, Education Minister Adriana LaGrange and chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw to announce the measures. Other measures being taken in schools include clarifying COVID-19 outbreak definitions, providing rapid-testing kits and encouraging school authorities to have proof of COVID-19 vaccine policies for adults.
